Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6280, an I-1S (2-10-0) "Decapod" built in Juniata as an I-1S during July of 1919, rebuilt as an I-1SA in April of 1949, and retired in March of 1954 after 35 years of service. Perhaps it was prepared for the "Altoona Shops Inspection Trip," but it was not included in the final group on locomotives on display. (#25 of 33)

Shown here (L to R) is PRR engine #6330 and another steam locomotive whose road number is not recorded. #6330 is an I-1S (2-10-0) "Decapod" built in Juniata during July of 1919 and retired in December of 1955 after 36 years of faithful service. They're rounding the Curve and climbing the Allegheny Mountains on Track 3 with a mixed-cargo freight train.

It was published originally in the "National Railway Bulletin," Volume 53, Number 2, 1988, page 9.
