Description:  When I was there, the CALM had stopped operating the line, and the East Texas Central was running trains. So said the train crew when I asked for permission to be on-site. The CALM still existed, but was subleasing to ETC or something like that. On Sunday, this train was arriving from the northern end of the line with carloads of roofing granules.

Title:  MSRC 1042 on MLRC train detour over KCS.
Description:  Rainy day MLRC detour train on KCS due to washout on ex NL&G. KCS no longer used this line and signals had to be reactivated for MLRC use. This track was also closed by washouts about 5 days later with a MLRC train stranded at Sibley. Line was never reopened and was torn out within 2 years. It is currently the Louisiana Rail Trail mainly for ATV use.
