The D-7 was the first of four GP40's bought new by the DeQueen & Eastern / Texas Oklahoma & Eastern, and was photographed outside the DQ&E shop at DeQueen, Arkansas. The two railroads subsequently bought three new GP40-2's and three ex-Conrail GP40's. The D-7 was confirmed as frame no. 5704-1 and serial no. 31855, built in August 1966. |
