It's Amtrak Day -- ]aturday 1 May 1971 -- and Louisville & Nashville E7A's 779 and 780 rest at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal sand tower after having brought the very last L&N passenger train into New Orleans. In a couple of hours, they would back into the station and then leave with all of the L&N's passenger cars that were still there. |
