| Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken from the 17th Street Bridge in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1071 and another locomotive whose road number is not recorded. #1071 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built in Juniata as an I-1S during November of 1918, rebuilt as an I-1SA in June of 1941, and retired in August of 1959 after 41 years of service. |
