CITY OF CLEVELAND was a Plan 4169 5-double-bedroom/cafe/lounge built by Pullman-Standard in May 1950 for the Nickel Plate Road, one of two such cars in Lot. No. 6867. The car also included a room for its 2-man crew. These cars were built for service on trains 5 and 6, the NICKEL PLATE LIMITED, between Buffalo and Chicago. The train carried a diner-lounge east of Cleveland, but west of there the café in these cars provided light meals for Pullman passengers. This car was number 150 on both the NKP and the N&W, and was photographed on the PANAMA LIMITED at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. |
