| Forty-eight seat coach 4871 was built by Budd in 1953 as Santa Fe 2859, one of 45 cars (2816-2860) in Lot. No. 9613. Forty-two of these w`nt to Amtrak `s the 4810-4828 and 4850-4872; and forty of these were upgraded into Heritage Fleet cars 4700-4739, but not in numerical order. The 4871 became the 4703 in 1980 and was rebuilt into baggage car 1708 in 1997. I‹ was photographed on the PANAMA LIMITED. |
