Both K-36 #480 (Baldwin c/n 58559) and K-37 #499 (Baldwin c/n 20753) had been sitting on the deadline since 1970 when I found them alongside the Alamosa roundhouse. Both were sold in March 1981 to the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge, where #480 still steams. The nonoperational #499 is on display at Royal Gorge. [Date of photo approximate.] |
