| Delivered to Missouri Pacific in 1974 as SD40-2 836, this unit was built without dynamic brakes. After the MP-UP merger the non-dynamic brake SD40-2s was slowly dismantled until some of the remaining members were rebuilt into non-turbocharged SD38-2s for yard service. UPY 854 was released for yard service in June 2000 and shows signs of twelve years of hard usage. Time for fresh paint. |
