Seaboard System GP16 #4976 was rebuilt from a former GP7 in June 1981. Original unit was constructed November 1950 as Seaboard Air Line #1732. Unit later became Seaboard Coast Line #912, was later transferred to Atlanta & West Point as A&WP #576. After 12 years of service as a GP16 (CSX #1857), unit was retired February 18, 1993 and later became Buckingham Branch (BB) #1857 and later BB #2. |
