BNSF Transfer Job Y-BIR104 passing through 2nd Avenue in Birmingham Al. on their way back to East Thomas Yard after interchanging with NS at North Yard with a rare GP40X leading the way still in Santa Fe paint, BNSF only has 10 of these GP40Xs on their roster & are rarely seen, especially leading, when Santa Fe took delivery of these GP40Xs they were put into service to haul high priority intermodal trains, now theyve been demoted to yard & local service since BNSF has purchased many newer widecab locomotives over the past several years, Im glad to still see this power in any kind of service these days & hope they have plenty more years left in them for yard & local service |
