On the east side of Ripon, the CNW crossed Silver Creek at the mouth of where the creek expands to become the Gothic Mill Pond. Silver Creek was dammed around 1854 by Ripons founders to supply power for their mills. This part of the CNW ran from Fond du Lac through many small communities to Wisconsin Rapids.
