UP 539, conductor's side view  Contributor's Pick!       
UP 539 faces west, coupled to fellow GP38-2 GMTX 2102. They're in the UP's yards at Jefferson City, MO on 5-17-2014. This view shows the amber (?) lights on the cab roof, the A/C unit on the roof, the ratchet-style handbrake, and various items affixed to the nose. This unit also has the newer-style Blomberg trucks (no leaf springs) and shock absorbers on the rear axle of each truck.
