| CN local approaches the station sign as it pulls 4 cars southward through the former SOO yard at Appleton Junction, WI on 21 Mar. '15. Train was heading back to Neenah after working Shawano. The SOO depot stood a few blocks to the southwest, along W. College Ave., on a long spur that ran south from this main line into downtown Appleton. The depot was razed in 1970 and the spur was pulled up a decade or two after that (although the spur is still depicted on CN's interactive system map). |
