U.S. Plywood 11 is Baldwin Mallet 2-6-6-2 built in November 1926 Builder #59701. This side tank logging Mallet was built for Ostrander Railway & Timber Co.where it was the #7 used in logging service in Ostrander, WA. In 1939 it was sold to Weyerhauser Timber Co & moved to Klamath Falls, OR where it was operated as #5, after completing it's duties w/ Weyerhauser it was sold to Kosmos Timber Co for logging service in Kosmos, WA area as #11. In 1953 U.S. Plywood took over Kosmos operation & left as #11. In 1961 U.S. Plywood #11 was placed on display at University of Washington. |
