Sumpter Valley Railway used full sized couplers on its equipment, where as most other narrow gauge railroads used 3/4 sized couplers. Sometimes things mate up fine, other times they don't. When they don't, the SVRY has a few of these coupler extenders to make sure everything fits. Here a Sumpter Valley Caboose hooks up to a White Pass gondola with the help of one of the extenders. |
