Meeting at Mason City. CNW 6582 was originally built as Burlington 522. The C&NW acquired several used SD45's in the mid 1980's from Conrail and BN and most were rebuilt at the ex CGW Oelwein shops. Included in the rebuild was the replacement of the 20 cylinder 645 engine with a 16 cylinder, Dash 2 electrical components and other upgrades. |
