This photo was taken at the Green Brothers' gravel pit at Jenkins, Louisiana; along the Gulf Mobile & Ohio's Bogue Chitto Branch neap Franklinton. It shows former Mississippi Central Mikado 124 was being pushed by former Illinois Central 0-6-0 210. The 124 was Alco-Brooks serial number 63168, built as J. J. Newman Lumber no. 13 in Nov 1921. It became*Mississippi Central 124 in December 1935 and went to the Washington-Western in June 1953. The 210 was Alco-Brooks serial number 52259 and was built in November 1922 as Illinois Central 210. It went to the Washington-Western in November 1957. (approximate day) |
