Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8613 and #8608. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,400 horsepower each. #8613 is an AS-24M built in 1956, but #8608 is an APS-24MS built in 1955. They are pushing a 93-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477807. |
