New Orleans Public Belt 0-6-0 No. 21 was parked at the railroad's engine terminal between assignments. By this time, 14 Baldwin diesels were handling most of the work and the railroad's three newest steam engines, 0-6-0 Nos. 20-22, were the only ones still around. These had been built by Baldwin in January 1921 and were authorized for retirement on 15 May 1957. (approximate day of photo) |
