An eastbound train was descending the Huey P. Long Bridge behind a trio of Southern Railway 6-axle units: SD40 3188, SD40-2 3243 and SD45 3168. The train originated at the Missouri Pacific’s AVONDALE YARD, at the west end of the bridge, and would become Southern Railway train 114 when a Southern crew took over at the east end of the bridge. |
