This freight train heads west on the Conrail mainline in Toledo, OH, August 1997. Two Chicago and North Western locomotives lead. Engine #8553 is a C40-8 and #8659 is a C44-9W. Both engines have "Operation Lifesaver" logos and slogan. CNW fully merged with UP June 23, 1995. Date close approx. (Canon A-1 35mm camera, Kodak Gold 100 print film) CNW 8553 became UP 9065 and later CN 2100! I actually saw it again in 2017 on CN's Algoma Central in Canada. Here is a picture I took of CN 2100: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=5385698 |
