New Orleans Public Service car 851 was on the ST. CHARLES line on St. Charles Avenue. The 851 had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1922 and was wearing the window screens that had been added to some of the ST. CHARLES and TULANE belt cars after World War II to protect passengers from the vegetation along the line. (approximate date of photo) |
