MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken in Newport, Pennsylvania, on 30 May 1952. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2017 and two "BF" Class B-units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by Baldwin. #2016 was constructed in March of 1952 and retired in January of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B-B set is passing through the Newport Passenger Station with a mixed-cargo freight train bound for the Enola Yards. At the far right, the Newport Bridge crosses the Juniata River. ("Stoneborobranch"; #1 of 56) |
