ICE 4203 was the lead unit for a northbound freight in Bettendorf, IA on 6-28-2011. This was probably a late model GP40-2; note the new-style housing behind the cab. This was called the traction motor air cooling duct, IIRC, and used to be a different shape. Years ago some railfans called this new style the "laundry chute" or similar words. |
