Here is the sixth of ten original photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on 21 February 1948. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7133, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1918 and retired in September of 1956 after 38 years of faithful service. It's powering a passenger train that's about to depart the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Station on a brisk February morning. Gary Mittner Collection. |
