| Former Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans Mk-5 Mikado 745 was inbound at Kenner, Louisiana. The locomotive had just been rebuilt and was on its second break-in run over the Kansas City Southern from the railroad’s New Orleans Yard to Reserve, Louisiana and back, a 60-mile round trip. This image was actually taken on a 6½-mile section of the Canadian National (former Illinois Central) over which the KCS had trackage rights. |
